Solution Shaping

Our Solution Shaping service helps organisations to define effective solutions based on their business need, rather than simply technology implementation. We work with organisations to consider both current and future organisational, market and technical opportunities in order to identify the most valuable solution set for the business.

Our service helps organisations to achieve the following:

  • Crystallisation of vision;
  • Definition of solution roadmaps integrated across the organisation;
  • Identification of new opportunities;
  • Better understanding of the benefits, implications, issues and risks associated with candidate solutions from both a technical and organisational perspective
  • Better understanding of the non-technical skills and services required, for example support services.

Solution Analysis

Once organisations have identified a solution it is key that an assessment of the solutions requirements is conducted. This analysis needs to be undertaken in a controlled and traceable manner.

Amaze conducts solution analysis in two stages:

  • Need Analysis: Too often technology project start with functional requirements and fail to consider the needs of key stakeholders. Important questions like what benefits does the business want to get out of this solution are missed.
  • Requirements Analysis: With a clear view of need, we are able to undertake a detailed analysis of the requirements the solution will need to meet in order to realised the desired benefits.

This simple two-step approach gives our solutions a clear view of scope that is traceable in terms of benefits right back to the original rational for the solution.

Our approach enables us to work within the context of the organisation, mindful of technology but not defined by it.

Business Case Production

Any solution should be seen as investment that combines technology, 3rd-party services as well potentially a significant amount of internal resource.

Many organisations embark on technology projects without rigorously quantifying the costs and risks associated with the solution.

This makes it difficult to undertake an objective assessment of investment decisions against expected business benefits prioritised against the other needs within the business.

Amaze works with organisations to advise on the critical technical and delivery considerations that need to be included in a comprehensive business case in order to ensure a more robust level of decision-making.
